  7. This is a complete port of the Icon 9.1 programming language for the
  8. amiga. (Icon 9.1, amiga port 1.0)
  9.  
  10. Icon is a high level interpreted language which excells at string handling
  11. and rapid prototyping, though it is a general, elegant programming 
  12. language.
  13.  
  14. This port does NOT have the graphics functions, unfortunately. However,
  15. it can communicate with Arexx hosts.
  16.  
  17. You need the ixemul library to use it (not included in this archive).
  18.  
  19. Proper documentation for Icon as well as the Icon Programming Library is
  20. available from ftp.cs.arizona.edu
  21.  
  22. To recompile icon, you also need the original source (from 
  23. ftp.cs.arizona.edu), a port of unix patch, and a decent part of ade 
  24. (gnu-utils + gcc)
